I don't know how many of you have read PUSH by Sapphire. She is a black writer. This is one of my favorite books written by an African American. I think that its real literature unlike many of the other black writers who just write about sex, drugs,and violence. This is a really compelling story about a young black girl who is basically born into a life no one would want. I encourage you to read the book, but if you wont then you can catch this fall on big screen. It stars Mo'Nique, Mariah Carey, and Lenny Kravitz...check out the trailer thats sure to pull you in.
